Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Hello, I have a question so me and my boyfriend (the father of both my children) got into an allegation that went too far. It got physical and he choked me and grabbed my baby by the legs and pulled him up. The situation was provoked by both. I did not call the police my mother did the next day when I told her. He was already at work that morning. Due to that I went to the hospital with the ambulance so did my son my son was fine but I had abdominal trauma. I stayed at the hospital for 2 days due to that. I DID Not pressed charges I was asked and I did not make a written statement even tho the policed asked several times I did not want to make a decision out of anger even tho it was wrong but it was provoked by both. I did speak to a caseworker as she had to be called because of my son. He was arrested the next morning and charged with assault to a pregnant women. I never pressed charges and did not put a PFA on him s he is still the father of my children. He was charged a fine a told he had another court date where he was going to be arrested. He is on probation so they said it was a probation violation. I want to help him on his side as it was a first time and just a mistake we both spoke about it and willing to attend counseling. We both are young he is 18 I'm 19. I don't want it to go any further. How can I help on his case ? because I don't press the charges apparently the police did. I don't want any judgment please I need someone for some advice on the matter. I'm going tomorrow morning to the police station see how I can help.

This boy beat you and your child.he isn't a man. If you don't have enough self esteem to stand up the this reprobate to for yourself, you should be mom enough to stand up for your child. My guess is Children and Youth will get involved. If the do there will be a hearing, The court will probably rule the child dependent as to father which means Children and Youth will start providing services and he won't be allowed around the children without professional supervision. Your problem is you try to help or side with the kids dad the court may declare the children dependent with respect to YOU, I that happens your kids will end up in foster care..
The question is who is more inmport? Him or the Kids.
