Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Restraining Order

My elder parents live in NJ & they are being harassed, by mail, by their daughter-in-law who lives in PA, This unstable daughter in law has been separated (not legally) from her husband (my brother) for about 9 years. My parents are both 87 yrs old & are not well (my mom has a heart condition and my father dementia). Every time one of these horrible letters are received by them, my mother gets extremely upset for days. I was wondering if legally I could get a restraining order, ordering her to stop sending harrassing letters to them.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Re: Restraining Order

It might be possible to stop her. You have to consider the cost and stress on your parents of using an attorney and the Court system to do this. It also sounds like your brother needs to speak to an attorney to figure out what he should do with his situation, he is certainly stuck in limbo without a real wife but not divorced.

If you would like, give me a call; I am in northern New Jersey. The telephone consultation will be free. I would be happy to help you out.
