Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I retained a lawyer to file for custody of my son. His father doesn't have a lawyer and we would like to come to an agreement through mediation. My lawyer has filed all the paperwok, but I would like to avoid paying her to appear. Can I just go to the court date alone?

If there is an agreement then there might not be a court date. You should ask your lawyer.
