Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

ADA Law Suite

I was served today with papers stating that my business is named in a class action suite along with 4 other stores in my strip center and our landlord. This relates to alleged violations of the ADA.

I own a small retail

photography studio.According to the papers I have some minor violations such as the mirror in my bathroom is too high and the door knobs are not the proper type etc. . I have no problem with fixing the violations but the lawyer is asking for payment of legal fee's. I was never notified of these violations before now. Also the name of my business is spelled wrong and the address is incorrect on the papers. My questions are, am I required to pay these legal fee's and do the mistakes on the papers in validate them? I know these law suites are a big problem around the country. It sounds like extortion to me.

Thank you

Re: ADA Law Suite

Your business has been sued so you need to get advice from your own attorney. Free advice is worth no more than what it costs. Except I will say that a misspelling isn't going to make the suit invalid.

If you have business insurance, you should notify your insurance agent. That coverage should pay for an attorney who will make sure your rights are protected.
