Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

falsley charged

I was falsely accused and charged with theft, was arrested and the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. Do I have any type of recourse to sue the parties who accused me, and how would i find a Pro Bono Attorney, I donot have the funds to pay but would if I would win the lawsuit.

Re: falsely charged

Probably not. Accusations are just accusations. As such there aren't defamation.

Let me get this straight you want money out of your accusers but you don't want to pay the attorney or maybe you'll pay if you win. The bad news is in the American system of justice each side is on the hook for their legal expenses. If you don't like that well to quote Justice Thomas "you need to take that up with the legislature." Why would it be fair for you to get a free attorney while the other side has to pay for theirs. Next, why should an attorney work for free? Especially if you don't like the outcome you'd want to sue them.

Why is not being able to afford an attorney any different that not being able to afford say a flat screen TV?

You might think me cold hearted but I have 2 active pro bono cases on the docket all the time. I also take a good number of modest means cases as well. That said I have to make a living and cover the student loan, the malpractice insurance and all the other expenses in keeping an office running.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
