Holding of team funds

Our travel baseball team last year paid into and help raise a large sum of money for 12 of our kids to use for practice fees, etc & a trip to Florida. Now the coach has keep the money, cut some of kids from the roster, and is using the funds to promote a new roster for 2007. I have asked several times for my portion back but to no avail.

Did you speak to the coach? If yes & no resolution, try to speak with whoever is in charge of the League, or the division the team is in. If no resolution & you feel the money should be returned, your only way to get it back would be to file a smalls claim law suit with your local District Justice (assuming the amount is less than $8K).
