Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Joint Answer by Several Defendants

An organization I belong to is being sued by a bank and each of the directors is named as a defendant. Since our answers will all be the same, may we issue a single answer signed by each of us? Can you give the code that covers this?

Re: Joint Answer by Several Defendants

Get an attorney. This is the wrong place to seek advice when there is a pending matter. There are too many variables that would affect any answer that could be provided here. The plaintiff will seek to pierce the corporate veil and this is not only a sophisticated area of law but one that is currently changing.

You should very seriously consider getting an attorney separate from the attorney represnting the institution. I would be happy to speak with the organization or any of the directors about representation.

Re: Joint Answer by Several Defendants

You can file a joint answer, with 1 defendant attaching the verification. If you don't have an attorney, you really should at least consult with one. Please contact my office if you need more help. Good luck!
