Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania
I have been on medical leave since 1/16/11 and will be having knee replacement surgery next week. My doctor has advised me that after surgery, post recovery w/ rehab will be 6-8 wks. I have been notified by my employer that my leave will expire 5/1/11. I have contacted them to find out what they need from my doctor to extend my leave and he has sent that to them. I am worried that they will not extend this as they have done so before. Will I be able to qualify for unemployment benefits if they terminate me?
Also do to limited financial funds from short term disability I am having problems with making my car payments. I am behind and can not make full payments. I called, spoke with an account manager and tried to work out some other type of payment arrangements or to have the loan redone. They refused to help with anything. What other steps can I do?
