Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

no response from defendant after filed a complaint

A person filed a petition in the court against three individual professionals and two institutes, seeking a puntitive damage for $100,000.00. The petitions were sent to all the defendants in certified mails. Three months passed, none of the five defendants answered the petitions and filed the responses in the court. Now the case has been assigned to a Judge but the Judge does not schedule a day of hearing. Questions: 1 What is the next step this person needs to do? 2 Since the lawsuit seeks a compensation of $100,000.00, must this person ask for a jury hearing? 3. Can this plaintiff add more pneality against these five defendants since there are no response?

Another case: A person appealed to the Superior Court. This person requested the Court Transcriptof of Processing from the Office of the Reporter and Intepretrator of Administation. Five months passed, the Office is not able to find the report even though the person has identified who the reporter is. Report contains information regarding how the opposing party lied to Judge and his lies can be fully proved by the newly secured evidences. Questioin: Can this person sues the Office for mssing report. If so, how much can he sue the office?

Re: no response from defendant after filed a complaint

the next step is that the defendants must file an answer of the plaintiff can enter a default and pu forth hi s evidence before the court to get a monetary judgment. there are no additional penalties for failing to answer and a jury request is not mandatory.

I do not believe htere is an action against the court reporters. You should make an new request. If that doen't work, you may need the judge to sign an affidavit as to what eveidence he took at while in court.
