Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

social security number

my boyfriend was going to cosign for a car loan for me thru a local dealership. The dealership told us they could not do it with with my name and his name. because my credit is bad. The dealer told him he could get it with just his name, so he did. He fille out all the paper work and they accepted it. Now we come to find out that they used my social security number instead of his on the contract. Just recently the car was repossed. He does not want to make the payments on the car anymore. But I still do. The bank has told is they cannot just change the name on the contract. Is there somthing i can do

Re: social security number

There is nothing you can do unless your boy friend cooperates. You can advise the lender of the incorrect social security number. I suggest you consult an attorney. The loan documentation needs to be reviewed. Your boy friend's credit is destroyed and his only hope is that you will pay for the car. The Bank is correct. Your name can not be substituted. There is a possible solution, but you would have to seek legal advice.
