Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania
I wrote a check that bounced and have reacived a notice for a summary trial to appear before the magistrate in PA. I have paid the check. Can you tell me what will happen if I don't show up

You are charged with a crime. Show up.
It does appear that Mr. Artim is right -- unless it's a civil case that's been filed against you by whoever you wrote the check to. If it's a civil case and you don't show up, a monetary judgment will be entered against you for the full amount sought.
If it's a criminal matter, however, and you don't show up, a bench warrant for your arrest will be issued and -- once you're picked up -- you will be jailed until brought before the Magisterial District Judge. You do need to attend this hearing to avoid arrest! I also suggest that you hire an attorney to make sure nothing else goes wrong.

Agree with the other attorneys. show up and bring proof that the money was paid with a cancelled check or other proof
