Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania
i am an allient been married to a citizen for bout 4 years. we were happy but at one point our marriage took a turn for the worse . he became both emotionally and physically abusive. our marriage became hell and now we both want to get a divorce. however i am in a proses of getting my paperwork (through my marriage) in bout 2 months im only gonna apply for adjustment of statues after our first court hearing together. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT and when will i be able to get a divorce without getting deported?? or is there another way i can get my paperwork? someone suggested telling the court the truth? would that really work. I have grew up here i dont want to leave but i dont want to be in this hell any more either? what are my options what can i do?

To apply for a green card through marriage, a US citizen husband has to petition for you.
If he had abused you, you might be able to self-petition under federal VAWA law.
