Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

Hello,

I applied for the permission for my son's green card when he was under 21. At that time he was studying at a college. After graduating from college, he left for Russia, where he grew up, to live with his father. He's 30 now, and I still haven't been able to receive anything for him. I'm a permanent resident (green card), married to an American for 10 years. I want him to come over here at least to visit me. Is it possible? Is the fact that I applied for permission for his green card so long ago 9with no result) an obstacle to his coming over here on a guest visa? Will he able to get an entry visa to the US if we send him an invitation? We miss each other very much, and i really want him to at least visit me.

If you are a permanent resident and your son is single/unmarried, a waiting time in his visa category is about 8 years (they are processing petitions with a priority date Feb 2002). If your case is older than that, you should contact the NVC. If was filed later (after Feb 2002), then it means that the priority adte is not current yet.

If you become a USA citizen, the priority date could become current sooner.

Any pending immigrant visa petition is viewed as an indication of an immigrant intent.
