Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Forced into ''voluntary termination'' after leaving work 1.5 hours after my shif

I informed my employer of plans I had for January 15, 2005. I asked to be scheduled a morning shift until 1:00 pm. I work at a local pizza shop as a delivery driver. It sometimes gets busy there, and I ended up staying until 2:30pm. I was scheduled until 1:00, and I then left without the consent of my boss. I told them I would be at work for my shift the following day. When I showed up, they didn't allow me to clock in, and told me I was under ''voluntary resignation.'' They would not fire me, however. My question is, can they do this, and if not, what would be the best possible course of action for me to take? Thanks

You are going to have to file for unemployment compensation and try to prove you were fired without cause. I offer free consultations.
