Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
I was recently fired from a job where I worked prior for over 6months through a temp. agency & got hired permanently. I went through a criminal background check & FBI clearance to get hired & worked in the home for over a month taking care of disabled people. I was there secretary in the main office for 6months & was asked to apply to be permanent. I filled out two different applications and gave them several references and was hired. They said they had everything & I could start. I then finished two orientations & had been working when I got a call from Pat from H.R. dept. & she said she needed me to fill out another application. I complied & then she said that one of my personal references came back bad & they had to let me go. I believe I was fired for no reason b/c they had my references months before & I had been working in the office & they are the ones who wanted to hire me. Do I have a case?

It is unlikley. PA law allows an employee to be fired for "good reason, bad reason, or no reason at all" unless they are in a union or have a specific contract of employment. You cannot be terminated for discriminatory reasons.
