Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Recruited Employment Position was Terminated

About 1 1/2 years agao, I was recruited into a position and left my other job for this one. I was hired for a 32 hour week and offered full benefits and opportunity. Now, I am unemployed. My employment was terminated and I was told the position was relocating to another area. Also, I only received a portion of my my benefits. Do I have any legal help, since I now have to start over in the emploment world. I feel I was misled into accepting the position as well as the position itself.

Re: Recruited Employment Position was Terminated

Unfortunately in PA unless you have contract,a union or a strongly worded employee handbook that provide for discharge for cause, you are an employee at will, dischargeable at any time for any reason other than race, sex etc. However, you are still entitled to certain benefits. The failure of the employer to provide the benefits may cause an ERISA violation. Also, did your entire company or plant relocate? If so how much notice were you given. It is understandable you feel betrayed, but PA is the most employer friendly state in the Union.
