Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

unemployment appeal

I am collecting unemployment

benefits and my employer has

appealed the decision for benefits.

How can I get a ''fair'' hearing since

all of the employees will be afraid of

losing their jobs if they testify against

the employer. They have been told if

they so much as talk to me they will

be fired on the spot. They certainly

will not say anything even under

oath against employer for fear they

will lose their job. Two employees

have already written false

statements regarding me. One of

these told another person her Dad

told her to do anything to get ahead.

I cannot afford a lawyer nor qualify

for legal aid based on my benefits. I

am afraid they will use a lawyer.

How can I get a fair hearing under

these circumstances?

Re: unemployment appeal

report the intimidation to the FBI as a crime, interference with your civil rights and obstruction of jsutice, among other things. unless you are just theorizing without proof.

if it is important to you, you must hire an attorney who will know how to navigate the subpoena process and who will puncture your employer's bubble.

you will need a lawyer who is fearless and a fighter; but if you are certain that such interference with your rights has taken place, Go Big in both the UC appeal and the later civil lawsuit which will seek additional monies including punitive damages. i suggest getting 3 former co-EEs to sign a statement before a Notary real soon. If they won't, then hire a private investigator. There is simply no way to accomplish what ou want on the cheap. It would be easier to act as your own dentist.
