Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Can i do something about this?

i was working at connellsville burns drug store for only a week and i got a call on the 7th day before work and my boss told me he had to take me off schedule because things ''werent working out''. He fired me just because he found out i was on probation. i asked him if he was firing me for any other reason, like did i do somehting wrong, and he said no, u were fine at work.. but we cant have someone like you working here anymore. My question is can i sue him or get him in any kind of trouble for discrimination?

Re: Can i do something about this?

You asked if it was illegal for an employer to discriminate against a person because of a criminal conviction.

The answer is no. It is only illegal to discriminate against someone BECAUSE they are a member of a protected class. There is some who argue that if a person has a criminal conviction and is a member of certain other protected classes that they may have a claim of discrimination because persons in those classes are over-represented in the class of convicted criminals.

Your original query did not provide enough information to detrmine if you may qualify, not has that particular claim been successfully prosecuted in our Federal judicial circuit.
