Deposit return timeframe

I had a lease that was dated until Feb 29th, 2008. I had moved out of the property by late December 2007, paid all remaining rent (lease is satisfied) and had a final walkthrough on January 28th. I have not received a detailed bill for any damages, nor a deposit refund check. Does the 30 day limit apply from the end of the lease, or from the end of the final walkthrough? I would like to take legal action, provided I have a case.

Re: Deposit return time frame

The 30 day time period starts when possession of the premises to the landlord. The only defense is that you did not give them your new address.
