Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Leasing

I am a business owner renting a space for 2 years. The gentleman that owns the space has never given me a lease to sign. Business is so bad at this location that I am trying to sell the business. What is going to happen with the rent that I owe. I have never paid any rent, frankly, because I have not made any money. I am in the red. No lease has ever been signed. Tried calling owner of space but with no response. Sent 2 letters explaining the situation. No answer from first letter. Sent second letter

certified. Just received notice that letter was received but no response yet. Will I owe him the money for rent or can I get out of this situation?

Re: Leasing

You need to retain counsel to resolve this issue before you are taken into court and sued for significant civil damages.

An attorney at this point could try to reach a settlement agreement between parties, failure to do anything will only guarantee more problems.

My office also offers flat rate pricing and free consultations, for additional information please visit my firm's website at www.AlleghenyAttorneys.com or by calling my office at 412.731.0865.
