Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Getting out of a rental lease

My lease ended 2/28/08, I received a new one 3/4/08 - the rent was increased slightly - I would like to get out of my lease, however, there is a clause that states if not cancelled 30 days before it ends it rolls over. This is a 1 year lease. Is there any way to get out of it - they say I cannot I am locked in for another year. I still haven't signed the new lease with the rent increase.

Re: Getting out of a rental lease

You need to look at your old lease. Does it automatically renew? If it does then does it say how far in advance of the expiration of the current lease they must notify you of the rent increase?

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
