The treating workers comp doctor Took an xray of my injury and knew I had a broken disc L4 L5 but documented that it was a sprain and sent me back to work. my question is :Is that Dr liable for the nerve damage to my left side?

Not likely. You have a juicy "claim over" against anyone involved other than your employer. Seek out a personal injury lawyer soon.
