Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

I was nearly killed in a car crash caused by a reckless driver. I was offered the policy limit on the at-fault driver's insurance policy and the limit on my own uninsured/underinsured benefits. My husband consulted a lawyer who told him he could get me "what I deserved." He simply helped himself to 1/3 of my claim for doing absolutely nothing. 2 weeks after I signed the settlement paper, he told me my husband's health plan at work would be taking my settlement to reimburse itself for the medical bills! I assume he didn't tell me because I would not have filed a claim. I feel like a fool. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

It may be that you have a legal malpractice claim. That claim should be explored. Without knowing all the facts I can't provide you with an analysis. Your atty should have been able to negotiate the lien so that you received a reasonable amount. Please contact me if you want to discuss further. In any case, good luck!
