Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

I was involved in a hit and run accident in Pennsylvania where I was standing at the open door of my vehicle when the door was hit by the side mirror of another car. I wrote down the license plate number and particulars of the vehicle but did not file a police report. My wrist was pulled in the accident and has not healed yet. The doctor recommends surgery. Can I track down the car and hold him accountable for damages?

Actually, you have a lot of options. Feel free to call me to discuss. First, you should absolutely file a police report. They may not bother to track the guy down but that doesn't mean you can't file a claim against him. We (or your lawyers) can track him down with the license plate number and then file a claim against his insurance company. Worst case scenario is option 2: You may have what is called Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist protection on your OWN insurance which would cover you in the event that (1) we can't find him; or (2) he doesn't have insurance. The MOST important thing for you to do right now (besides talk to a lawyer) is to TREAT with your doctor. Do not wait, do not put it off, get into your doctor as soon as possible. If he doesn't have any open appointments soon, we can get you into one of our networks of doctors immediately.
