Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

License suspended upon renewal

When going to renew his license, my husband was advised his license could not be renewed and is suspended due to his name being listed on a National Driver Registry in PA.

They suspended his CDL and gave him a temporary 60 day license to give him time to resolve the issue. Upon further investigation, we found out that there is a $20,000 judgment filed against us from an auto accident that occurred 30 years ago. We were never notified of this judgement. We would like to find out what he can do to get his license reinstated without having to pay a $20000 judgement from 30 years ago we never knew about. According to the Court of Common Pleas, The judgement was never revived in the 30 years and it never appeared on our credit report which is why we never knew about it until now.

Also, he's been licensed in De for 10 years since moving here.

You probably need to see a lawyer, but it is a relatively simple process. The fact that the judgment was never revived, and has existed for 30 years makes it void, but a petition is going to have to be filed with the court to have the judgment removed from the dockets. Contact a local lawyer who does general practice work. The only problem is that you appear to live in Philadelphia, and fhe filing fees are outrageous.
