Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Concern on distribution of assests

Grandmom died in March 2007, my mom is the executor - no distributions have been made yet. Mom continually states she cannot pay her bills, however she has been on a spending spree (big items) stating that my grandmother would want her to have them. How do I find out what is being distributed/paid from the estate? I have seen the will and it clearly states %ages to each person.

Re: Concern on distribution of assets

Assuming the will has be filed with the Registrar of Wills then there should be by now an inventory of the estate. If the will has not been filed then there are big problems.

As executor you mom has a fiduciary duty to the beneficiaries of the estate.

Its not unusual for the distributions not to happen right away. Other things do need to happen fairly quickly like see that estate notices are placed in the appropriate publication and see that taxes are paid.
