Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Father passed away w/out will

Uncle shared all CDs w/ my father, so how is that money supposed to be distributed? AND How can I find out what other assets my father had?

When your father passes away without a will you should file for letters of administration and hire a probate lawyer to collect and marshall his estate and then distribute any net assets to his heirs (usually his children.)

What do you mean by shared? If they owned the CD's Jointly with Right of Survivorship and your father passed away, they almost definitely are going to go to your Uncle. If in some other form of title, then it would depend on a number of factors.

With regards to what other assets your father had... If there was a trust, then you have a right to it as the son/daughter. Otherwise you will be looking at probate and these issues are worked out during the probate process.

Basically, we need more information: 1) how title was held in the CDs; 2) Whether your Father's property is in probate, whether he had a will/a trust, etc; 3) How long ago did he pass away, and who is the executor/trustee/personal representative.
