Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania
Order of Abatement
My father's will left specific but different sums of money to a church, 3 friends, 10 grandchildren and 4 children. There is no order of payment in the wording and the amounts add up to more then his estate worth at the time of death. There are 2 large properties that will need to be sold to get the cash. How will/should the cash be distributed once the properties are sold?

Even if your father's estate was small, this may be one for which you should consult and get the assistance of an estates lawyer.
The executor could be personally liable if the estate is not properly and fully administered.
