power of attorney

I was my moms poa, there was a court ordered payment from a previous nursing home she had been in. I had of course signed as poa. now that my mom has passed away am i still responsible to pay this debt.

The obligation that you signed as your mother's agent should have clearly indicated that you were signing only in that capacity, and not personally on your own behalf. If that was correctly done, you should have no personal liability for debts of your mother.

The POA expired as of her death, and now her estate is responsible for her debts.
