Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

Ex-employer not coughing up last paycheck

I quit my job at the beginning of Nov. and have yet to receive my final check. All calls and inquiries I have made have resulted in frustration. They keep telling me they'll do it when they get around to it. I need to know what, if any, laws and precedents protect me-ie., is there a determined period of time that an employer has before being required to pay up.

Re: Ex-employer not coughing up last paycheck

The Pa. Wage Payment Law provides that you should receive your check at the normal time. The law also provides for a double penalty and attorney fees. Advise your employer that if you do not receive the check immediately it will cost much more after you retain a lawyer.
