Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I have 3 children ages 14,13 and 12 yrs old. They live in FL with their mother during the school year and me in SC during the summer and school holidays. They do not want to go back to FL. They wish to stay with me and go to school in SC. The kids and I have tried to reason with their mother but she doesn't want to lose the child support from me. I do not want any support from her. What can I do so the children can stay where they are the happiest. There has never been anything drawn up on legal custody. We just have physical custody when they stay with her and when they are with me.

If you and the mother cannot agree, then you will need to go to Court to have this resolved. More information is necessary though in order to determine whether jurisdiction will be here in SC or in FL.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.SpartanburgLawyers.com). I wish you the best of luck.
