Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

If I were to buy a house right now is there anyway I could avoid my wife getting it in a divorce or having to sell.

The general rule is that if you buy any property during your marriage it will be considered marital property and will be subject to division by the family court. There are exceptions, like inherited property, but even the exceptions have rules that most be followed to keep it separate from the marital property. If you have no intention of divorcing your wife, you need to accept that if you buy property now she will likely have an interest in the property. If you are planning on divorcing your wife, I would recommend waiting to buy any property until the divorce is final.
