If you receive a subpoena you need to do what is being requested whether it is to appear for a deposition or to produce certain documents. If you refuse to attend the attorney can seek assistance from the court. They can seek sanctions against you and the court will likely force you to go to the deposition. If the request of the attorney is for something completely unreasonable you will need to seek the court's assistance. You will need to file a motion with the court (before the scheduled deposition) asking the court to say that the request is unreasonable. You should seek the advice of a local family law attorney.
