Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
I would like to get temporary custody of my grandson. His mother has been going through financial difficulties and therefore does not have permanent residency. I would like to get my grandson in order to give her an opportunity to get some stability in her life. Recently, my grandson ended up in the foster care system. He was given back to his mom after just a few days. She has been in about three residences within the last three months. I don't think that she uses drugs. I know that she tries but she only works part-time and she has to pay someone to watch the baby while she works. My offer is temporary custody lasting 90-180 days.

Custody is a complicated issue, and there are many considerations that need to be made. For instance, the father will most likely need to be named as a party to any custody action, and he could possibly use that opportunity to try to get custody himself.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
