Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I am wanting to adopt my girlfriends child as my own, she has never known her biological father as he signed parental right termination papers when she was concieved. The judge will not sign the ruling because her mother is not married. I financially support both the mother and child, and the biological father has never given any support or even seen the child. Do i have any options?
