Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina
change name
Hi, My wife was legally allowed into the US from Dominican Republic and has a ss card and all documents needed to be in this Country. In her Country they do not change there last names when they get married. It is causing alot of confusion because on her ss card it says her first name and then her maiden name and then ''de'' my last name. When we did our taxes together it would not allow her to file in my last name. She had to use her last name even though my last name is last on the ss card. I guess to make it short what do I need to do to change her information so everything would have only her first name her middle and my last name ? So much for your time, Phil Sujat

Re: change name
Name changes are handled by the Family Courts. Due to terrorists, people avoiding criminal prosecution, avoiding creditors, identity fraud, the process has become complicated and it is extremely advisable to have an attorney help you. Good luck.
