Legal Question in Immigration Law in South Carolina
I married a Colombian woman 1/8/08, and now I want to file separation papers. Will she still be able to get a permanent residence? We live in S.C where you have to separate for a year before you can get a divorce.

Probably not, because you didn't petition for her with the USCIS (as I understand) and she didn't apply and obtain a green card through adjustment of status based on a marriage to you, a US citizen. Whether there are some other ways for her to become a permanent resident, is unclear from your post.
