Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in South Carolina
Wrong sutures used in laparoscopy hysterectomy .
I had a laparoscopy hysterectomy done the first of this year due to problems with fibroid. After the surgery, I started having problems with my legs and feet. The doctor didn't think it had anything to do with the surgery. As time went on I had spotting and abdominal pain along with pain in my hips, legs and feet. I went back to the doctor telling them this. They did an abdominal ct scan and didn't find anything. The doctor put me on some medication and said I needed to see a neurologist but at the time I had no insurance and no neurologist would see me without it. So he sent me to see an orthopedic surgeon who said he didn't see why I was there. I kept calling the doctor telling him I still have the same problem. He would call in prescription for me and nothing else was done. For 6 months now I have been in chronic pain with my abdomen, hips, legs and feet. I have had spotting and a discharge that has become constant with a very bad odor. I went back to the doctor where they have found that the wrong sutures were used and I have an infection that is causing the discharge and pain. They want to do surgery again with a different doctor in the same practice to try to get them out. Should I talk to an attorney ?

You may have a case, but there are too many variables to be able to say for sure right now. Get all of your medical records together and consult with a med. mal. attorney asap to protect your rights. For a free consultation, you can contact my office at [email protected] Good luck.

i agree that you should consult with a lawyer ASAP...there is always the possibility that your present condition is a recognized complication, and therefore, not compensable...but its worth having someone evaluate...i can refer you to someone in the upstate, but down south, i would have my upstate friends give you a name...or, i have a very good friend here locally who is outstanding and handles cases thru-out the south...up to you
