Legal Question in Product Liability in South Carolina

Sue for Stolen Goods

I brought my computer into a repair service and requested a service be done. I was told many conflicting stories leading up to the return of my computer.

After getting it home, I found parts missing. I reported to the service, and over several return visits and notifications, managed to get some of my parts back, but not all.

I later learned that they discarded my parts, without my consent. Even using the BBB, they still refused to return my parts.

I lost several years of work because of their service, lost much of the investment I put into my computer.

My computer is still devalued, and in a damaged condition.

Am I within rights to sue this company, since they in effect lied to keep my business, and stole my parts and discarded my important data, without my consent.

Am I within rights to sue this "company?"

Yes you are. However, proving that they did what they did may be difficult. Also, you would need to prove your damages (the money you have lost) might also be difficult. However, based on what you have described, you would certainly be within your rights to try. The best thing you could do is to meet with an attorney who can go over all of the particulars of this, review any invoices, receipts, work orders, guarantees, waivers, etc., and advise you. Good luck.
