That issue may have already been decided in 1970. If not, you will have difficulty with this because of the amount of time that has passed and whether or not any action would be barred because of that factor. If you look in the deed records, you can always look at the conveyance deed (warranty deed, quitclaim, or other deed from the estate) from when your great uncle sold the property. At the top of that deed, it may show the name of the attorney and law firm that prepared the deed. You can then see if that attorney is still practicing (or even alive) by going to www.gabar.org to look the attorney up. If you are just looking to find out what happened, that may give you at least some sense of what happened and some closure.
