Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

Please help. Inncocent person charged with felonies

Hi. I have a friend that I've know for almost 6 years. Recently out of the complete blue he was arrested for two kinds of felonies regarding computer hacking and illegal satellite programming. He has not committed these crimes. Come to find out, there were airline tickets were purchased in his name for places such as Detroit and so on in tennesee placing ''so called deals''. This is absolutly not true. Several people were arrested in this ring including my friend. There are people in the ring that picked his picture out of a lineup but I think it has something to do with stolen identity. I know this person and I know he has not commited these crimes. He has never been in trouble with the law not once in life. The attorneys he has met with are basically saying it is hopeless. He hasn't committed these crimes. They have the wrong person. He's willing to take a polygraph but has been told that it isn't going to help. I find it hard to believe that the government is going to put an innocent person behind bars for up to 5 years. Please any advice would be grateful. Thank you so much.

I am not sure what your question is here. With that said, I would advise your friend to find another attorney. If I understand right, these are federal charges and he certainly does not want to face federal charges (or state charges) without an attorney. If he can not afford an attorney the courts will appoint him one.

The burden is on the prosecution to prove the elements of each and every crime charged. A case such as this will take a good deal of work and a great deal of experience. Do not bargin shop for assistence in this matter.
