Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee
settling out of court
I need information regarding a case where I have an 8 hour span I don't recall what I did. All I know is that I woke up in the local ED, then sent off to the mental hospital for 6 day stay. I was found shoplifting at a local shop. They are willing to settle out of court for the cost of a watch they weren't able to find. Do I need to hire an attorney to do this or can I do without one?

You don't know the law or legal procedure and are unlikely to fully understand documents you are presented or the consequences of agreements you might enter into. It is a good idea to get an attorney who practices in the area and who does understand.
