Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

He wants to adopt and we don't know where the biological father is located.

My daughter is 4 years old. Her biological father left when she was 6 months old. We were not married, but his name is on the birth certificate. I have since married. My husband is the only father she knows and he wants to adopt. How do we go about doing the adoption?? I have never received any child support and do not know the location of her biological father. The last I heard he was in Louisiana.

You would start by contacting an attorney who handles adoption cases.

In Tennessee, since he has failed to have any contact with the child or pay any child support in more than 6 months, you would clearly seem to have grounds to terminate his parental rights.

Now you simply need to contact an attorney who handles such cases.
