Evicting one spouse from the residence

I re-married about 6 months ago. My spouse brought nothing to the household, no furniture, automobile, nothing tangible but his personal belongings and $1500 he put in our joint savings. The marriage is disolving due to his emotional outbursts at both myself and my three teenage children. I have asked him to leave the house immediately. He wants the $1500 back as well as a car I own that we took out a home equity loan to pay off. He also wants to stay at the house for a period of time until he gets himself established elsewhere. I am fearful for myself and my children and the emotional abuse. What are my rights to get him out of our home, what am I obligated to give him on his departure?

It doesn't sound as if you have the grounds for an Order of Protection, but you can still file for divorce and seek an immediate restraining order, which a court would most likely grant ordering him to immediately leave the home. The issue of how things would be divided and what he might get would be decided later.
