Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Parents who have signed rights away?

When a parent signs their rights away I know they have none, although when the kids are bigger and realize that the one parent was misleading them and they want to reconcile with that parent are they able to do so on their own if they are of the age 15 or more. This parent is doing well, owns their own home, attends college. The problem started when the parent married outside of their race and the other parent did anything possible for revenge. One child has been back but is 18, the other is very unhappy with the parent who is a truck driver and is gone all of the time, and leaves the child with a stepparent. Thank You!

Re: Parents who have signed rights away?

Your question makes no sense. I urge you to contact an attorney so he or she can try to figure out what you are trying to accomplish. If you do not feel comfortable calling an attorney, go to your school's guidance counselor or any adult you trust so he or she can call a lawyer for you. I believe with very little trouble, you will find a lawyer who will at least talk to you about your situation. Good Luck.
