Legal Question in Medical Leave in Tennessee

FMLA - Specific Medical Conditions

Is there a list of specific medical conditions that will apply for FMLA?

I have migraines, Rheumatoid Arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, depressionw/ panic attacks - all of these I have to be out of work for w/not much leave. I have requested FMLA for the RA but am being sent for a 2nd opinion. Just wondering what is covered as a Chronic Medical Condition & is it up to my employer to decide what is and isn't covered.

Thanks for your help.

Re: FMLA - Specific Medical Conditions

It is not up to your employer, it is up to the doctor. They can request a second opinion. If the second opinion differs from your doctor, you could have trouble. In such case you should seek the help of an attorney quickly.
