Legal Question in Immigration Law in Tennessee

I am thinking about marrying a woman from Germany. I understand that I have to apply for a K1 visa but that I need to meet her first. When she comes here to meet me, would it be advisable for us to get married at that time or wait. What are the pros and cons.

Yes, you are right, if you plan to file a K1 visa (Fiancee), you have to have proof that you've met in person. It makes sense to get to know a person before marrying her.

Sometimes it could be possible for an individual from a Visa Waiver country (such as Germany) to come to USA and then marry, and then apply for a Green card through a process known as adjustment of status. There are several pitholes in this scenario, as a person can't come with an immigrant intent and/or misrepresent her intentions to the CBP officers at the border. It's not possible to advise you here on the forum in general terms what would be better course of actions for you personally.
