No Compete Contracts

Are No Compete Contracts legal and binding in Tennessee? I heard that TN has a Right to Work law in place - is this true?

Re: No Compete Contracts

A non-compete agreement is binding in Tennessee, but it may not be enforceable as written. Many times a non-compete agreement is written so broadly that a court will not enforce it for the employer or they may revise. Also, there are many instances in which the employer seeks to enforce a non-compete which is really not legitimate since the employer has no legitimate interest to protect.
