Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

my son was injured at a resort's waterslide and the insurance company has agreed to a settlement of $9,999. This happened in South Carolina while on vacation. We live in Tennessee. Now, the insurance company is telling us they don't have the forms to fill out to get court approval and that we need to obtain the forms through the courts. We would rather not hire a lawyer, as the settlement amount is satisfactory for us. Where can we obtain the forms to file the claim/approval for a minor's settlement?

This is not the the type of thing that the courts normally have "fill in forms" for. I'd contact a couple of local attorneys and see if you can get someone to complete the papers, file them and seek court approval. Court approval on settlement with a minor is required because a minor cannot make a contract and you can't make it for them. However once the court approves the settlement, then the insurance company (and you) are protected.
