What does my husband do if his sister doesn't go to probate court

My husband's sister was appointed granitor of the will, and has not gone to probate court. My mother-in-law passed Oct 1, 2004 and we can't sell her car or home. How does he go about taking this responsibility from her. She has not attemted to do anything and has missed all her court dates.

Is there a will? What state was she living in when she passed away? What state is her proerty located in? The answer to your questions will depend on these things.
